About R&A
Ken Rygler is the president of Rygler & Associates, Inc. Prior to starting Rygler & Associates in January, 2002, Mr. Rygler was the founder of DuPont Photomasks, Inc. (DPMI), a company he started in 1986 and took public in 1996. DPMI, led by Mr. Rygler, changed the face of the photomask industry, from a principally captive market to a principally $2 billion merchant market.
This drove a consolidation from over one hundred producers in 1986 to less than dozen major captives and merchants today. DPMI completed over 20 acquisitions of merchant and captive photomask operations.
In 1996, Mr. Rygler played a lead role in DPMI’s successful IPO. He developed strong personal relationships with the investment community and is a recognized and widely quoted industry leader and spokesperson.
Before founding DPMI, Mr. Rygler held senior management responsibilities in a variety of businesses in the electronics, industrial, and consumer markets. His electronics experience includes EDA, silicon wafers, photoresist, photomasks, semiconductor and mask making equipment, semiconductor packaging, rigid and flexible printed circuit boards, and connectors and cables. Mr. Rygler developed relationships with most major process equipment, materials, and software companies, and their OEM customers.
Within DuPont, Mr. Rygler pioneered the development and commercialization of a new line of flexible printed circuit materials he branded Pyralux®, which has continued to profitably grow for over 35 years. Key markets included military/aerospace, consumer electronics and disk drives. He also led the development and commercialization of Pyralin®, a line of spin-on polyimide coatings for semiconductors, which ultimately led to the formation of a $100M joint venture with Hitachi Chemical, HDI, Inc. He spent several years as V.P. of New Business Development and V.P. of Sales of DuPont’s $500M electronic connector business, before it was spun out of DuPont.
Mr. Rygler graduated with Honors from Bethany College (WV) in 1964 with a major in chemistry and a minor in economics. He is a graduate of both the Penn State and AMA Executive Management Programs. He served overseas in the armed forces from 1965 to 1967. He was an officer of DPI, a member of the board of directors of DuPont Dai Nippon Engineering, DuPont Photomasks Taiwan, Ltd., Petersen Advanced Lithography, the American Electronics Association/Texas, the Austin Symphony Orchestra, and on the advisory board of Confab.. He also served as CEO of Pixelligent Technologies LLC, and CMO of Molecular Imprints, Inc.
